Angle grinders - tougher than ever beforeNürtingen, April 2011: Metabo has completely revised its compact angle grinders with 800 to 1,400 Watt power input. Almost all models of this range are now 50 Watt more powerful. However, the motor does not only have more power, it is also cooled more efficiently than before. The powertool manufacturer uses here new carbon brushes with optimised cooling properties and an improved guided air flow. It guides the hot air even faster out of the tool. As a result the temperature is lowered by 20 percent and the overload resistance is increased.Angle grinders are put to hard continuous use - therefore it is important that the overload protection kicks in at the right moment. For this reason Metabo has equipped its angle grinders with 1,400 Watt power input with a new electronics system. It controls the overload protection with particular precision. If the machine is challenged to such an extent that it changes to cooling mode, the user can continue to work without interruption under normal load with the new generation of angle grinders - possible thanks to a higher cooling speed. As soon as the motor is again cool enough, the machine changes back to overload mode - and this significantly quicker than before. The new generation of the Metabo compact angle grinders has even more power, better cooling and an even longer service life thus meeting the hardest demands in industry and craftsmanship.
