Flexible battery classNuremberg/Nürtingen, 24th March 2010. The high-performance battery packs "Li-Power Plus" and "Li-Power Extreme" that were launched at the beginning of 2009 by Metabo are now ensuring more power and endurance in a further battery-operated tool even in tough conditions. An important factor here is the perfect interplay of the battery and the AIR COOLED charging technology. In conjunction with the forward-looking electronic concept of the machine, the charging is now even more gentle and fast. Integrated monitoring of the single cells protects the individual battery cells from deep discharging or overloading. Also, the output of the battery packs is tuned to the requirements they need to meet. According to the manufacturer, the "Li-Power Plus" cells are the most powerful in their class, "Li-Power Extreme" cells are even the most powerful on the market. Furthermore, they come with a three year guarantee.Benefits that the new 18 V hammer drill "BHA 18 LT" now also profits from. The switchover to the "Li-Power Plus" battery pack with the sliding seat has increased the capacity from 2.2 to 2.6 Ah. This means that this compact, easy to handle power package, which also comes with a shoulder strap, can drill over 100 holes ( 6 x 40 MM) with just one battery charge, more than other similar devices. Coupled with its weight of just 2.9 kg, the successor to the "BHA 18" is highly suitable for efficient non-stop working in the interior finishing field. The impact energy has also improved at the same time: it now manages 1.8 instead of the previous 1.6 Joule which will be of particular benefit to professional users who drill into concrete. Also, the design has been streamlined and the upper edge of the machine has been "straightened". The result is a more compact shape and even better balance. In contrast to its predecessor, the new hammer drill is now available with a collar and a 360° rotating additional handle – something that craftspeople have wanted for a long time. Metabo always supplies the machine with a second battery pack in a plastic case. The standard delivery also includes the Metabo VibraTech (MVT) additional handle, a drilling depth stop, a shoulder strap and the charger "ASC 30 AIR COOLED". The "BHA 18 LT" is also compatible with "Li-Power Extreme" battery packs and is therefore available in a "Pick&Mix" version fo all those seeking to use their tool flexibly and always with the correct "dose". The delivery scope includes the box, the Metabo VibraTech (MVT) additional handle, a drilling depth stop and a shoulder strap. "Flexible" is the name of the game for another innovation within the Metabo battery-operated device range. Apart from with the "Li-Power Plus" battery packs, the 14.4 Volt or 18 Volt battery hammer drill "BS 14.4 LT Impulse" is also now available with "Li-Power Compact" battery packs with a capacity of 1.3 Ah. This means that with just one battery pack - of the same voltage class - more tools than before can be operated for a number of professional tasks. Metabo meets the demands of the trade here for compatibility. Download: Press Release Photos: BHA 18 LT.jpg BS 18 LT Impuls Compact.jpg
